About Winks Design Studio
Welcome to Winks Design Studio, where each design tells a story of love, determination, and the beauty of nurturing one’s gifts. Our journey began as a homeschool family that believed strongly in developing the talents that live in each of us.
Aidan, explored various fields including vlogging, photography, videography, financial markets, and digital marketing, each skill a piece of the mosaic that would become our studio's foundation. Brea, with a natural affinity for colors and patterns, began her artistic journey at age nine. Her art path was filled with self-taught lessons and structured classes. There were many days when she grew frustrated and even stopped creating all together for a while. Her journey is a testimony to her dedication and love for art.
The Birth of Winks Design Studio
Brea's entrepreneurial spirit was kindled during her senior year entrepreneurship class, where she was tasked with developing a business, complete with a marketing and business plan. This project was not just an academic exercise but the pivotal moment that led to the birth of Winks Design Studio. It was the perfect opportunity for Brea to intertwine her passion for creation and her pursuit of a Graphic Design Certification.
Our journey wasn’t without its hurdles. Melissa’s diagnosis of Lupus and subsequent injuries brought unforeseen challenges. Yet, in these moments, Winks Design Studio became an oasis, offering a creative escape from the families challenges. Brea, continuing her homeschool education and stepping into the role of caregiver, worked alongside Melissa to bring the vision of the studio to life.
Melissa's background in teaching, running a successful lifestyle blog, and holding a degree in marketing, has been instrumental in shaping the studio. Her expertise rounds out the team's skills, infusing the business with a knowledge and experience in content creation, audience engagement, and strategic marketing.
From a homeschool project to a thriving business, Winks Design Studio officially opened in October 2021, with Brea and Melissa formalizing their partnership in November. Our journey is a testament to the power of family, dedication, and the pursuit of one's passions.
We start each design from scratch, whether in a sketchbook, an iPad, or cocktail napkin steering clear of pre-made designs or SVGs. Every piece is a unique creation, crafted with care and intention. Our commitment extends to producing our shirts in an eco-friendly, sweatshop-free environment within the USA, and we personally package and ship each order from our workshop in North Carolina.
Winks Design Studio is more than a business to us; it's a dream realized, a testament to resilience, and a daily reminder of the strength found in unity. Our journey has taught us invaluable lessons about life, each other, and the importance of true fulfillment. We are driven by a commitment to excellence, evident in everything from our products to our customer service.
